Youâre not raising an obedient kid.
Youâre raising a strong, powerful kid. A creative soul and a critical thinker who knows their worth.
Youâre trying to parent your child gently and respectfully, but youâre not always sure what to do when your child doesnât listen. đ€
The Kid Talk Technique is an online program for the parents of kids ages 2-5.
Sometimes you give up when your child doesn't listen the first time because you donât want to yell or spend hours negotiating.Â
Â
But youâre not really sure what to do instead.đ€·đŒââïž
Timeouts and idle threats arenât really your thing.
But it doesnât feel great if the only time your child listens is when you lose your cool đ  (and feel awful about it afterwards đ©)  or bribe them with more screen time or a đ to do what you said.
Youâre tired of power struggles at bedtime, and you wish it was easier to get your child dressed in the morning or leave the playground without a fight.
Moms say:Â
Â
âMy husband and I had been wrestling with daily power struggles with our four young children.
We were done with yelling, bribing and idle threats. Â
Knowing what to do when our children push back has helped us be calmer, more effective parents, and we have noticed improved cooperation from our children."

Hi, I'm Sara
I am living proof that you can raise a kind and cooperative child using a gentle and intentional âbalanced parentingâ approach.Â
My version of balanced parenting combines â
- The idea of gentle and respectful parenting with
- Proven strategies from the Montessori philosophy
So you can offer your child direction and guidance in a gentle and respectful way that doesnât harm your relationship or scare your child into compliance.
With a Master's degree in Education and 30+ years of working with children, I've learned that the most important thing about raising cooperative kids isn't rewards or punishments.Â
It's connection.Â
Because you can be kind, calm, and respectful, and raise a child who is the same.Â
AND ALSOâŠ
Being a calm and connected parent doesn't mean letting your child be in charge of EVERYTHING.
Â
Your child is hard-wired to look to you to show them how the world works. You are their loving and trusted mentor and coach, and offering them leadership and guidance is an important part of your role.Â
Â
That's why I've created THE KID TALK TECHNIQUE for parents just like you.Â
Â
Because I'm here for parents raising bold and brave kiddos â who realize kids still need to:
đȘ„ Brush their teethÂ
đ¶ Not pull the dogâs tail
đđŒ And hold your hand when you cross the street.Â
Boys argue less and seem happier and calmer.
Â
I have 2 very active boys (5 and 8) and I was finding their behaviour quite challenging after school.
After implementing just that one strategy, our evenings have completely changed!
Now there is less arguing and they seem so much happier (and calmer!).Â

The Kid Talk Technique is a proven process for helping you phrase your directions in a way that makes your child more likely to cooperate in the first place and shows you how to follow through in a gentle and respectful way when they donât.
This is a 6-week online program designed specifically for busy parents of young children.
Â
The lessons are prerecorded, so you can watch anytime.
Youâll focus on one topic each week so you can practice and apply what youâre learning without feeling overwhelmed.Â
You certainly can do more than one topic a week, if youâd like, but the structure is intentionally designed to be supportive and realistic, so that you can create meaningful change, gradually and sustainably.
THEÂ KID TALK TECHNIQUE HAS 3 SIMPLE STEPS
Â
â STEP ONE: MONTESSORI MINDSET & THE ENERGY OF YOUR SUPPORT
The foundation of The Kid Talk Technique is approaching your childâs tricky moments with the underlying energy of offering support. Not disciplining or reprimanding them. A Montessori understanding of child development helps you use strategies that work with your childâs natural development instead of against it.
Â
â STEP TWO: HOW TOÂ GIVE A DIRECTION
Kind, calm, and connected communication helps you give your child directions and support in a way that encourages and expects their cooperation. Youâll learn specific words and phrases that that make your child more likely to follow your directions and less likely to fling themselves on the floor in protest when theyâre not in the mood.
Â
â STEP THREE: HOW TO FOLLOW THROUGH
Learn how to follow through on your direction with calm, consistent, and gentle support. It's how you get from POINT A (youâve given your child a direction, but theyâre not following your direction,) to POINT B (theyâre following your direction) without raising your voice, begging, or bribing.Â
Bite-sized Lessons
Â
The lessons are short (under 15 min) so you can watch them in small pockets of time like during naps, after bedtime, or waiting in the car line at school pickup.
You have immediate access to the videos when you join so you can get started right away! đ
Weekly Reminder Emails
Â
Each week you'll receive a "Momentum Email" with a brief introduction to that week's topic.
These emails help keep The Kid Talk Technique at the top of your inbox, and top of mind, helping you stay motivated and engaged in the program.Â
Program Workbook
Â
A place to find the action steps for each lesson, as well as any checklists, journal prompts, or practice scenario activities all in one place and easy to find when you need them.
The workbook is a google doc that you can bookmark or you can download and print the pdf version if you prefer to write your answers by hand.Â
Sleep has improved and there are less daily battles.
Saraâs program has been extremely valuable to our family!
Â
It has helped my husband and I become a more unified front on our parenting style and language we use with the kids. Sleep has improved and there are less daily battles.

You donât have to do this alone. Â
Â
To help you feel confident that you will know how to apply these strategies to your own life, when you join The Kid Talk Technique, you get
Â
6 weeks of 1:1 support in the messaging app Telegram.
Â
Pop your question in a Telegram message or short voice note and we can troubleshoot challenges and help you apply what youâre learning with this âasynchronousâ support. (Telegram is a messaging app like Slack or WhatsApp that you can access on your phone or computer.)
The Kid Talk Technique is not just a course. Itâs a step-by-step process with my support along the way.
To help you feel even more supported in the program, there are a few BONUSES:
Â
Â
âš BONUS #1:Â OFFICE HOURS ON ZOOM
Stop by at 1:00pm EST on the first and third Thursday of the month for âoffice hoursâ on zoom.
- Â Talk about whatâs working well and what might still feel hard.
- Â Ask questions and we can troubleshoot challenges.
-  Talk more specifically about you might apply the ideas in The Kid Talk Technique to your family and situation. Â
Â
âš BONUS #2:Â QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
The Quick Reference Guide is a summary of the strategies and key phrases from the The Kid Talk Technique, so you can share what youâre learning with your spouse, partner, nanny, or Nana. Children thrive on consistency, and itâs easier for everyone when caregivers are on the same page.
This Quick Reference Guide helps you share the strategies youâre learning with your husband, wife, or mother-in-law so they can respond to your child in a consistent, supportive way even if they arenât in the program. It is also an easy way for you to revisit the ideas you're learning if you'd like a refresher or reminder.Â
Â
âš BONUS #3: TWO MORE WEEKS
Two extra weeks of support (for a total of 8 weeks of support) in the program.
The Kid Talk Technique is paced to be very doable in 6 weeks. But â especially as a parent â LIFE HAPPENS. I want you to have a little buffer so if some of the lessons or modules take a little longer,  you donât have to rush and youâll still have a way to ask questions and troubleshoot challenges as you use and apply what youâre learning in the program.
When you join THE KID TALK TECHNIQUEÂ you have âlifetimeâ access to the lessons. That means as long as the program exists in the world, you have access to the lessons. You can return to the material whenever you need a refresher, a reminder, or guidance for a new stage with your child.
Â
The 6 modules are thoughtfully organized to help you move through the material at a steady, manageable rhythm (ideally one per week) so you can apply what youâre learning in real time.Â
Â
You donât have to âfinishâ within 6 weeks.Â
Â
At the same time, engaging with the content during that window allows you to fully benefit from the weekly emails and group support as you practice, ask questions, and celebrate progress.
AÂ map to refer to in the parenting wilderness.
Â
"The biggest improvement for our family is that I have more tools in my toolbox when "troubleshooting" a parenting problem.
I don't feel so overwhelmed by "not knowing what to do" or not having a model to refer back to; the program has given me a map to refer to in the parenting wilderness."
